Debbie Henthorn
A bohemian with many passions, writing has given Debbie Henthorn a voice to share her vices with the world.
An insatiable wanderlust has provided the means to experience great craft beer, wine and food throughout the US and Canada. Having a preference for small "mom & pop" establishments leads to great food finds in the middle of tourism-dense areas. Debbie dreams of a return to Europe with the tastes and eyes of an adult, rather than a teenager on her first trip away from her parents.
Years of trial and error in the kitchen have led Debbie to the ownership of a licensed home bakery in central Ohio. The Wright Taste features artisan-style breads, desserts, fruit spreads, seasonings and mixes. While selling primarily at farmers markets and produce auctions, with special orders consuming the "food" holidays, there is a hope of opening a small retail shop in the near future outside her log cabin.
Cooking isn't work but rather a therapy and artistic release. Debbie lives for the day of lackluster sales of convenience items and fast food, driven by people returning to their own kitchens to cook.
Debbie has been a bartender for over 20 years in a variety of establishments. She continues to work at a neighborhood bar for just a few shifts a week, waiting for "that character" to walk into her life.
When not working, relaxation comes in the form of music and reading, or watching a brilliant sunset with a glass of wine.
